The Hyundai GDS SMART automotive diagnostic scan tool is the advanced successor to GDS Mobile. The complete kit comes with a new VCI 3 Interface, Tab Active5 Pro Rugged Tablet, and Hyundai SMART License. The GDS SMART dealer tool is used by Hyundai automotive dealership technicians as their factory diagnostic system.
The VCI 3 is the next-generation vehicle communication interface, supporting CAN FD and DoIP Ethernet protocols. Hyundai GDS SMART software is pre-installed on a rugged Samsung Tab Active5 Pro tablet, offering extensive diagnostic capabilities for the entire Hyundai vehicle lineup in North America, including cutting-edge IONIQ electric cars from 2021 - 2027. Product licenses and dealer code include diagnostics, programming and access to factory service information, wiring diagrams, and service bulletins.

Q: What does this tool do?
A: This is Hyundai’s official factory OEM diagnostic scan tool, the same system used by dealership technicians. It performs full vehicle diagnostics, control module programming, ADAS calibration and immobilizer related work.
Q: What model years does it cover?
A: Coverage includes all current Hyundai models, including the latest model year vehicles just released from the factory.
Q: What other benefits does it provide?
A: The system includes full access to Hyundai’s factory service information, repair manuals, wiring diagrams, technical service bulletins, and diagnostic procedures. Exactly the same resources available to dealer technicians.
Q: What is the warranty coverage?
A: As an Authorized Hyundai Kia Genesis distributor, we provide factory 3-year warranty for the tool. Active licenses required and warranty does not cover accidental damage, misuse, or abuse.
Q: How are software updates handled?
A: Updates are delivered online directly from Hyundai’s servers. The system checks automatically and applies updates several times per week. Frequent updates are required to maintain compatibility with the latest vehicles and functions.
Q: What is included with the subscription license?
A: The package includes a 1-year Hyundai GDS SMART software license. After the first year, the license can be renewed annually at a cost of $1,680.
Q: Can it perform immobilizer and key programming functions?
A: Yes. Immobilizer, key programming, and PIN code functions are supported when used with a valid NASTF VSP account. A per-vehicle key code fee may apply.
Q: Can it perform ADAS calibrations?
A: Yes. It supports all factory spec ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibrations according to Hyundai manufacturer specifications.
Q: Does it work outside the USA?
A: This product is compatible with U.S. specification vehicles only.
Q: Does it work in Canada or other countries?
A: It will only function with U.S. specification vehicles.
Q: I’m a traveling technician. Will it work in South America or the Middle East?
A: Licenses are available exclusively for U.S. specification vehicles and must be used within the USA.
Q: Do you ship Hyundai tools outside the USA?
A: As an authorized distributor, we do not ship Hyundai, Kia, or Genesis products outside the United States.
