In 2022 Subaru introduced new Denso DST Interface. Denso DST-010 is the next Subaru-supported interface used with Subaru SSM4 and SSM5 diagnostic programming software. The DST-010 has new capabilities, and the internal 32-bit microcomputer is powerful to support protocol ISO9141(K/L) and HS-CAN and Subaru protocols. In addition, the built-in wireless module allows Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connection to a PC.
The interface, looking similar to a Chrysler Micropod (Mopar MDP), is equipped with a faster WiFi connection. Denso DST 010 does not have oscilloscope function. Master technicians who require an oscilloscope function may obtain an alternative. PicoScope makes good automotive oscilloscopes.
The Denso DST-010 interface comes with a USB2.0 Mini-DIN connector and bracket to hold the USB cable and prevent accidental disconnection. In addition, the new Denso DST-010 eliminates the need for a separate DLC cable, as it plugs directly into the OBD port on the vehicle.
The DENSO DST-i may still be needed for specific functions, such as use with the PC-embedded oscilloscope, or for communication where SSM III is required.
